A home is a place of residence or refuge. It is usually a place where an individual or a family can rest in and be able to store personal property. This is what I hope this is to be.

Got Yourself A...Security Blanket?
I once saw a Family Guy episode where Peter Griffin purchased a tank…YES A TANK! Well I asked the obvious. Can a civilian own a tank? After a long search the truth is…YES! Of course the gun must be disabled on the tank.
Now of course the question is so what? What’s the point?
Well a lot of talk has come out about gun control and I for one have always been an advocate for the second amendment. Now, from there I think that I part ways with many that are advocates of gun ownership.
The right to own a gun isn’t the issue. The issue is the issues, the psychological issues. We know and consistently address gun control while neglecting ownership control. So I'm just going to put it out there…what is ownership and why it’s wanted?
Ownership needs a clear and comprehensive explanation. Why is it good to own a gun? Is it because of protection of your home? Sure, just make sure that it’s not accessible to kids. When we say that kids are capable of handling that responsibility I call bullshit! If that is the case, why not let them vote? I didn’t think so. Let’s allow them to have sex…legally. Exactly! There is a general understanding that a child’s mind is not ready to embrace many things that with one wrong decision can steal a life and a childhood with one pull of the trigger. Then there are the “sportsman” that run off to the woods to shoot game. I just ask one question…where is the sport in shooting an unarmed animal? I wouldn’t mind if you just came out and said it’s a need to show dominance. But to imply sporting competition is a bit dishonest.
Now let’s speak on the most commonly used answer. We need gun ownership in order to protect us from the tyranny of the government. You dumb, disillusioned weaponry sycophants! The gun companies and the NRA have sold you a bill of goods that as a brother from a side of Chicago known as “Terror Town” I just laugh at the possibility.
On your best day, you couldn’t protect yourself from our government if it chose to take you down. It’s not only unrealistic, but in fact, I call it naïve. How can your best purchased weaponry compete? Let’s be honest, 20,000 people with the military acumen of Blackwater could take this country on its own. But you have a BIG gun to look like a big man that is macho like a woman gets a boob job to look or feel more attractive. Get fucking real! Just admit it to us, we already know the truth. Just come out of the closet! Oh no, not that closet, the real one. You are so fucking afraid of so many things in our society…government…crime…terrorist…or just a guy smaller than you kicking your ass in a bar that you went and “GOT YOURSELF A GUN”! It’s the ultimate security blanket. These damn “Linus’” running around strapped because…I need to be prepared to take my country back! Fool! Damn Fool! Big dumb fool!
It’s not yours any damn way!
That’s it though isn’t it? You believe that you are impotent while being told that you and your ilk are “THE MAN”. Feeling a little limp right now aren’t you? Your government owns your ass and you are mad as hell! And one day you aren’t going to take it anymore!
Yes you will…until you stop listening to the voices in your head. The government doesn’t own you…it represents you. Get your ass out of the woods hunting for “food” that is at a meat market. Take the fear colored glasses off and get involved with the government that has politicians that do EVERY damn thing that they can to make you cynical and afraid of your damn shadow! You want ownership…try your own fears.
Own them…then you can put the guns down! Then you can be what you want us to see you as…a man.
A man won’t ask or demand to take his country back…he will be involved and back his country.

Very strong post and true.
a very strong and well-written post. Bravo!
great points often not addressed in the madness that we call the 2nd Amendment.
funny thing: even when I inhabited some of the most dangerous places, I never EVER carried any kind of weapon. Weird, huh?
@nothingpetty...thank you.
Eddie, I wrote a blog series about how its the people that make the problems. So I went after the source.
No it isnt odd many people I knew wouldnt carry.
Terrific post. Thank you!
It needs a photoshopped graphic, though, with Linus and his beatific face hugging an Uzi.
