To Hell with your EGO! Just get it right!

You know its funny, when I first came to the internet world the first person I came across was a gentleman from India. Very knowledgeable and confident in his stances. I told him it was an honor to know him and learn from him. He then forewarned me of "hero worship", I then had the moment that truly made me feel good...I disagreed with him. I told him I don't have any heroes. He scoffed at my statement, after about 45 minutes he came to the conclusion that I knew was the intent of his "hero worship" statement. Many people use others to make them feel good, we have a need to promote someone just to say we are the same because we have them in our camp. So I let him know that "cult of personality" was something I studied and was very aware of.







You see our ego is a good thing...in the right measure.






I once wrote a blog series that spoke about those here online and how I admire their ability to help in my path of knowledge. I saw how those that thanked me for my compliment were appreciative. I just wonder do they know how important their information has been to me. I just wonder do they know how much I appreciate that they have taken me further out of my own comfort zone. I just wonder do they know that even when they post...I investigate to make sure I'm not talking out my...well you know.






I have built friendships with some intelligent people, some are well educated and others are just organically knowledgeable. Its safe to say I value and are honored to have them as resources. But I would never get it to the point that I would fall prey to the "cult of personality"!






We have enough false prophets in this world, I don't have the time or lack of esteem to make myself worship at someones alter, just because they are smarter. Now, here is where nuance(you know that thing that you need to have critical thinking, research, and a desire to seek truth) becomes so very important. We must seek understanding of anything that interests us. You cant venture into the unknown blindly, nor can you concede to a point that just isn't true.






You cant see someone as the end all to be all, just as you cant ever see intellect or ability as something that cant be quantified. I know the last sentence will have some backlash from some of my friends, but damn...THERE ISN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH HAVING TEACHERS, MENTORS, OR RESOURCES THAT ARE HELPFUL TO YOU GAINING TRUTH!






As I said in the right measure, ego is good. Lets look at the wrong measure...






Many people have crossed my path...lawyers, doctors, educators, and even politicians. I have had days where I have held my own and others that have schooled me. Great times in all instances. I have enjoyed all the discussions and debates. I like being corrected as much as I like being right. Its the same to me, one just has more steps to the goal...to know. But some of them...Master's degrees? Really? I'm a lawyer! Really? I teach at so and so! Really? I studied here or there? Really? What did you study I ask because it wasn't how to discuss, interact, articulate, or respect your peers.






Its about ego, can you make the importance of knowing the truth more than you having a belief on the basis of "hero worship", "cult of personality", or worse an ego so big that you just cant be wrong? Cant there be perception and knowledge sharing the same space?






Cant we just understand that if the truth will set you free, the lie will imprison you?

EEOC, the "Media" and the Tea Party

The EEOC was established on July 2, 1965; its mandate is specified under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), [4] the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008.







Now, the above was posted for reference. My point is this...why has the media ignored the most obvious point of the tea baggers?






I have been in management for over twenty years, gone to many seminars on the basis of discrimination. I have been privy to how to identify, confront, and extinguish any and all discrimination. I still have in my mind the last meeting where I and many managers have role played in order to properly deal with the issue. The biggest reason I have heard for management to have these "tools" is to insure a safe and productive environment in the workforce.






Now during the 2008 election I decided to be a pain in the ass to our human resources bigwig, I said during a role play moment(completely taking him, a white man, off guard) that Obama is a Muslim and I don't like him. The room went silent! The guy looked at me with a glaze over his face, paused and said this:






First, that is politics, the workforce is no place for that. That is the law. Secondly, saying that you don't like someone because they happen to be Muslim is discrimination. That type of behavior has no place for the workforce or any where else for that matter. That's when I hit him with a "monkey" comment about Obama. Boy was he pissed! He stated that the comment was racially insensitive to blacks, do I not see the historical context behind my comment? I retorted that he was being "politically correct", he was violating my first amendment rights! Well, he let me know that I was violating others civil rights with my insulting, bigoted, and rancor comments.






Then he fired me.






So you see, bias of any kind or insensitivity, isn't about "politically incorrectness". Its insulting, bigoted, and produces a unsafe and unproductive environment in society that cant be allowed if we are to be the "land of the free."






I just wonder when I watch television and watch the tea party rallies, when is the media going to fire them? When will the " we aren't racist", "why are you playing the race card again" going to be replaced with...your fired?






If their termination doesn't come soon...will our first woman president be called sugar tits? Will she hear the phrase, shrill every time she speaks? Will we have to constantly hear men say they fear for the security of the country once every month? Will we hear that "political incorrectness" and freedom of speech that absolves the members of today on a woman?






Will our first handicapped (don't bring up Roosevelt) be called words such as "Mongolism," or "retard" and "lame." Will we just let it be? Is Special Ed going to be that President's nickname? Will we have millions fearful because "he could accidentally press the wrong button?"






Will some people's "freedom of speech" continue to impede on others freedom?






Will we allow it...or will we say...your fired!

Im Just Going To Say It!

We have very serious problems in our society. Please, take note, I said ours. Not yours, but Us. Us, not the U.S. I said us. We have issues that are results of problems that we just cant deal with or confront. Why? Because we have far too many people participating...but they don't contribute.







Yup! I'm talking about you...the devil's advocate. The Devil does NOT need an advocate! We get it you are smart...hello...you are NOT proving it! When someone is getting to a point that brings progress, but you decide that today you are going to express your discontent with something that brings NOTHING to the table. You come to the table talking about Steak and we are discussing fish! WTF! We don't need to address your temper tantrum because you didn't get us to see your pain. Call Oprah! Critical thinking is NOT conflict deflection, NOT conflict suppression, its apart of conflict resolution. You think its not that serious...so why should we take you seriously? As I heard many times as a child...shut up...grown-ups are speaking. But no you just keep it up...being, in your own twisted logic, cute. You don't have answers, don't create more questions that doesn't address the issue.






Quit imprinting, quit passive-aggressive taunting, and last but not least...quit being cute. You aren't. You are just another piece of division on the internet and beyond.

A Rough Road Back To Democracy

As I try to look at the many op-ed/blogs posted on politics each day there is always one that just makes me smile. This post(Of course im not speaking of my own) gives a great commentary of the nasty word that is our existence...Oligarchy.

But lets get to the point at hand...if its truly about rich and poor, how did the poor get so many participants?






Really, I am asking a genuine question. How or when did this country, this planet just morph into a state of oligarchical malaise?






While we, the little people, bicker and fight over how we look or disagree over semantics and who has the right idea; the rich have gotten their idea. And don't doubt for a moment that they are running with their plan, its well thought out and implemented long before we came to the conclusion that democracy has long past us by.






While we discuss skin tone, gender, age, or whether its cool or not to belittle and demean some one with a physical disability...the rich are getting richer.






Now of course many will say you are preaching to the choir. I say we are still out of tune and sync. We may not need to have one song to sing, but at least be in agreement with the song listing.






Are we so ego-driven that the tools the rich use everyday can give them more power while we happily hand it to them? Are we, readers of the many books that warned us of such a state, just blind to the fact that Orwell and his writings are being used today to keep us right where we don't want to be? Are we that blind, naive, or intellectually dishonest?






I hear about capitalism is good for you and me...really? Did you get a bailout by demanding it? I hear that climate control is a hoax...really? So breathing good clean air is a BAD thing? I hear how the poor are the bad people...really? Did the poor destroy your 401k? I actually once heard that I should thank god for the rich people that "gives" us jobs...really? God likes the past and present actions of the rich? I hear helping the poor is throwing good money after bad...really? I wonder how the poor would feel if they were to vote based on truth and not on skin tone, bra size, hair color, religion, or zero sum myths? Would the rich stay rich?






C'mon, as one of my mentors use to tell me, we are better than this. Aren't we?

My note to the left...

I remember the year, 1992. The soundtrack to the democratic party was "Don't Stop" from Fleetwood Mac. Then, we did the unspeakable, we stopped. We didn't think about tomorrow, today had us all pissed! The left was frustrated and suffering from buyers remorse, the right was pissed the fuck off! They were unsettled from the nasty, sinful, bastard the president was. So the right united, the left whined. The left became fractured, the right got hostile. Two years later the Contract on America began its assault on us. For me, the contract wasn't really so bad. I thought the left got what they had coming to them. They were disenfranchised and quit playing...yup I said playing.







Its a harsh reality that politics is a game, its also your life! It determines so many ways of our life. Whether you know it or like it...its our Alpha and Omega. Don't you want to be apart of it? Don't you want to get in the fight and take a punch or two. Then you can throw some punches!






I have heard all the criticisms and knocks on the current president, he has earned them. What he hasn't earned is to be a second term president with no ability to do anything you want. Sure he fucked the pooch on health care, but what would the alternative had done? Think about that as you say I'm not interested in voting, why should I vote, and my favorite is he let me down. He let you down? So its your turn right? The president ain't your significant other, he is a politician needs to be pushed into doing the right thing. During the election, he was the sure thing, now you cant even vote? The right is so upset, yet happy as hell that you are following your typical blueprint. For them its great that you are fighting, they love your anger. Why do you think they keep the misinformation going? They know when you get frustrated, you quit, take your ball and go home. Leave the president without balls and you will be fucked.






Keep thinking about tomorrow, because today the fight is now. Quit if you want...know that the fight goes on without you...you will still feel the punches.

This Needs To Be Said

Andrew Breitbart has proven again that institutional racism is alive and well in America. His actions have proven, once again that black america need not to play the race card, they don't hold the deck of cards. They are not even involved in the game...spectators, at least in the point of the NAACP. Nope, I'm not calling out a racist, I'm saying this is a machine driven problem. Sure, Breitbart is a minion of the right. He might be a racist, but this is about the opportunity to bring harm to a group by making ONE person the new bogeyman. The system screwed Shirley Sherrod, on both sides. One attacked her and the other side let them have her, she was the sacrificial lamb.







How can you manipulate video and destroy ACORN, be found as a manipulator, but get enough credibility to discredit someone else? Now he has made a woman who had a great parable about racism and how we must rise above our prejudices into a racist. Also made her unemployed. I guess he is a great representation of what the right wants...to kill jobs...if you are a liberal.






But let's be honest, he will see no punishment. The MSM will not investigate to see that his assertion of racism was placed to facilitate an agenda. Did he have the full tape? Even if he didn't, in his eagerness to attack he lost sight of the fact that a person, not a cause, not a group. But in fact a person was demonized and excommunicated so unscrupulously that he announced after her termination, he stated the he did "a celebration in the end zone". He did that because he scored a smear job. A machine attacked a person and many have had the insensitivity to say her "problem" was brought on herself, "we have bigger fish to fry".






Really? When your ass is on the griddle, for no fault of your own, ask how big does the fish have to be for good people to stand up for you?






I watched this and knew, no matter what happens, the powers that be care not for us. It wont need to if we deny our ability and accept the indoctrination of being pawns. We are better than what just happened. If we are the change that we are looking for, we had better not allow this lynching to be just a precursor to the next one. We had better stick a foot so deep in the NAACP ass that they cant speak. The White House must do better than say sorry.






They reacted weakly, but the smear wasn't done by them...we must not allow, condone, or accept anything other than a true investigation of this. No one, whether it be a machine, company, or political party should be allowed to smear anyone they want.






Eric Holder...don't be a coward about race in this one. Find the cancer and remove it.

My Kid Brother...He never played fair!

Here is my brother,standing next to me, I love him to death. He was for many years my wing-man. When we were little he would never die!







Now allow me to explain...cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, and tag was not a fair fight with him. He would get shot, fall and get back up "I wasn't killed". I was furious. Shot with an arrow, fall, and move his mouth and get up..."I ate my spinach". WTF! He would get the family to laugh, while I was ready to body bag his ass. I would scream "YOU CHEATED!" My parents and family would say lighten up! Lighten up! You lighten up, that little motherfucker cheated! You saw it and just ignored it! How can it be ignored! He cheated, he would know the rules, change them to his advantage. That's some bull! How is it possible that I could live in an environment that allows someone to never play in the parameters of the rules.






Fast forward to present day...why am I asking that same question again? Now keep in mind my brother lives in Minnesota, I'm in Illinois. So I'm not discussing him, besides, he was younger than me and cute as a button. He meant no harm. Now, in the present time, harm is intended. Cheating, bullying, misinformation is the norm. Is it cute? Is it something to let slide?






Racial slurs, attacks, and cheating to an extreme that even I found to be tragic. But hey its just the way it is, right? We expect it to happen, right? Is that why one side plays fair then the other cheats, but doesn't get a strap to their ass? What about their fair-play? Nice guys don't get to finish last, they don't get invited to the race.






I have spent a very watchful eye in the past three years. Looking at how much more hostile this country has become. How much more divided we are...again. I remember all my friends, co-workers, and associates jumping for joy as America elected a black president. For me...I was saddened for what was to come. I knew everything that is going on now would occur. I knew there would be an uprising. I knew sides would be taken. I knew damn well I would have to do the same. But you see, I'm more of a conservative than the "conservatives" that I see. So for me this has been a stressed out period of time. I have had my friends slandered, had my latin friends betrayed, by the use of the law. Had friends that I know are struggling in this economy be called welfare kings and queens. Been told that my country isn't my own, I'm just allowed here and the "true patriots" want me and my kind gone.






So, in with this blog I'm announcing that there will be a cold day in hell before I vote for the "patriots" that are the right. I like to play according to the rules. You only want to win.

The South Won The Civil War!

That’s right the south won the civil war…you cant tell? You are mad because they want a Confederate History Month? Why? They won!

One thing that has been a thorn in my side is the lie about slavery. How it “ended”, how it was the reason for the Civil War, and last but not least how the Republicans were the proponents of the Civil Rights bill.


So lets bust the Civil War bubble…it’s the economy, stupid. If you want anymore info pertaining to that…look it up your damn self. I am so tired of hearing how a society that endorsed slavery in the Constitution would go to war to end it. Sure they would, just like every other war was fought for freedom. I still fondly remember how we went to the aid of the Rwandans’ when they were experiencing genocide…oh wait that didn’t happen did it?

Next if you are of the thought that slavery was the reason…results trump your opinion.
The Jim Crow laws were state and local laws in the United States enacted between 1876 and 1965. They mandated de jure racial segregation in all public facilities, with a supposedly "separate but equal" status for black Americans. In reality, this led to treatment and accommodations that were usually inferior to those provided for white Americans, systematizing a number of economic, educational and social disadvantages.


Some examples of Jim Crow laws are the segregation of public schools, public places and public transportation, and the segregation of restrooms and restaurants for whites and blacks. The U.S. military was also segregated. These Jim Crow Laws were separate from the 1800-66 Black Codes, which had also restricted the civil rights and civil liberties of African Americans.


So there is Jim Crow, Black codes, and separate but equal. Does that sound like slavery is gone after the Civil War? Think real hard and get back to me. Take your time…


Now of course there is the feather in the republicans cap about the Civil Rights act. Really? It was the Republicans?

And where did those republicans come from? The South? Hell no! I am so tired of the DAMN lie that the Republicans are for Civil Rights!

Northern Democrats: 145-9 (94%-6%)
Northern Republicans: 138-24 (85%-15%)

Southern Republicans: 0-1


Now lets ask, have people migrated so much that those with racist views moved?


Hell no! The voting record clearly shows that the “Dixiecrats” are what we would call now…DINOS…Dems in name only. Now don’t get me wrong, racism is world-wide, so of course there are some in the North…aint Boston still on of the hotbeds. Or should I just say…sundown towns. Sure some will bring up Robert Byrd…he is a KKK member!

Or my favorite, it was the dems that created the KKK…ummmm…you mean six confederate soldiers from Tennessee, right? Here let me help you…Confederate=Republican=South.


They won, because only winners get to keep what they were fighting for.

Drill Baby Drill!

That’s right, there are resources that we are dismissing and its high time that we tap into this very valuable resource. Oil? Nope! Wisdom, experience, knowledge, and understanding.



That’s right people, I am speaking of the demographic that is becoming more and more discounted…elderstatespeople of this world. The group that we have through media, government, and social inconvenience denied ourselves of a vast amount of understanding.






You see for me, I did not see this because for me, my grandfather was a guide to me. He criticized and informed me to be the man that I am. I figured that everyone had that opportunity. Then I started to see things that concerned me, we are letting the resource go by the wayside. I ignored all the symptoms, all the signs. Then I wrote in a blog about what I would do as President, one of my acts would be to turn Social Security over to the people via state run banks with federal bonds as the way to be investment tools. There were many ideas I had, but that one garnered the most attention. But the attention came to me as fear of being thrown to the wind. I have always been of two accords with life and its path. I guess the best way to put it is two quotes from songs that I truly love.

It took a long time to reconcile those two quotes, they seem to make one important, while making another dismissive. Now I understand, the teachers for our children are there, hell the teachers for me are here. We as a society and country have for far too long treasured a strong back, a worker bee. We dismiss education as if knowledge and experience isn’t more important. I now know just based on working in management…we need to work smarter, not harder. We need to tap into the resource, not bury it. So I will leave you with wisdom that I will never forget…

This is where the socialist movement comes in. It's the banning together of WE THE PEOPLE to form a more perfect union, strive for the things that matter to the public like Social Security, which is basically where THE PEOPLE decided to pool a little bit of everybody's money together for the period in our lives when we get kicked out of that system when we are too old to be enslaved to the capitalist system, and too old, useless and sick to make it anymore. “

When I read those quotes I felt pessimism and optimism. But I did learn that the future cant be without a past. We must be students of the past and allow the past to show us the way.

Its Only Called The Serenity Prayer...there is MORE!

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.



I just wonder do we know that courage and wisdom are in this prayer? We are so very capable of being serene, able to accept EVERYTHING!






It has become where right is considered utopian. Really? When did righting the wrongs of the world become a utopian vision? When did excellence lose its fight to perfection?






I know I am challenging one of the most commonly used prayers, but in fact, I’m not. I’m challenging the person that prays.






We need to see a brighter light, a glowing and powerful belief that hunger, death, and hopelessness cant go on in our world. Right shouldn’t be what we hope for anymore…it should be the standard…bare minimum.






Someone once told me that right is right even when all that is wrong attacks it. You must be diligent in standing on the side of right. Right doesn’t need your help, it needs your action. It will survive without you practicing what is right. I didn’t believe that until recently, now I know because I see so much wrong. I see the acceptance of it. We have become complacent to the wrongs, we have become slaves to stagnation. We have allowed what is to be and stay, accepting baby steps after we have already learned to walk. I was under the impression that after man learned to walk physically, mentally, and spiritually we could fly!






And fly we should! Lets get the courage by standing together not tear each other apart. Lets show we have wisdom by applying what we know is right and do it…today, tomorrow, and beyond.
